One-Click Shadowsocks on DigitalOcean

Write the password down, you will need it to connect to shadowsocks later.
Sign up for and login at digitalocean.com
Go to API in the menu
Generate a token and write it down. You will not see it again.
On this page, select size, region and enter your API Token, then hit ok.
You will get an e-mail with the IP address in the format
, X being a number from 0 to 255.
Enter the IP address, port
, the password shown above (not in the email!), the encryption method
(should be preselected) into your shadowsocks client and connect.

The password is not working!
Are you trying to use the SSH password from the e-mail? Make sure you use the password given on the page when you set it up. If you lost it, there is currently no way of recovering it.
Shadowsocks doesn't connect!
Have a look at the log files, double check IP address, port and password. See if the server was created at DigitalOcean in the backend.

You can log onto the server via SSH at any time. Use the password from the e-mail.
Why not libev/Go?
